The creative power of women artisans is unlimited! To further develop their creative potentials and increase their access to markets and grow their business and stimulate local economy, “Refleksione” starts this November the implementation of the project “Empowering women artisans – Boosting local communities economy” supported by the German Embassy, Tirana. The project intends to increase the skills and knowledge of women artisans in the Municipality of Lushnja and preserve the tradition of artistic works in crochet, knitting, embroidery and pass them on to the new generation and acquire digital knowledge on social media and online platforms for marketing and selling online their handicrafts products. With greater employment and self-employment opportunities in the sector of handicrafts, thanks to the increase of professional capacities, enrichment of tradition with modern designs and better income from more market demand the project will promote gender equality since the voice of women and girls artisans will be heard more in their families and local communities. In close cooperation with the local authorities will be established a Handicraft Center for Women, within the framework of the project, which will serve as a workspace for women and girls artisans and meeting point..
Our expectations from the implementation of this project are the improvement of the economy and livelihood of families and economy’s boosting of local communities where the women artisans live and work.
